Why Does Love Hurt So Bad Cast Member - Annisha Battle Rollins

Annisha Battle-Rollins as Cheryl Sanders

Born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Miami, Annisha realized her love for performing as the go-to-girl at her local A.M.E church. From doing the announcements to playing Mary Magdalene, Annisha rarely said no to any of her Nana's request. It was in 1996, while at Florida A & M University that Annisha decided to overcome her procrastination and move forward on her desire to act. Unlike her local church productions, this blessing paid off as she appeared in her first live production. Annisha has proven that if you chase your dreams, pursue them with immovable faith, you will capture them and do ALL things. Having overcome a series of personal losses after college, Annisha felt that she should pursue acting again. Using her pen as an emotional outlet, she performed spoken word and poetry at Deco Lounge’s “Da Vibe” and found time to host various shows in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Knowing that she had something inside her wanting to be on TV, she took time from her busy career in the Legal industry and answered a casting call that would change her life forever. Realizing that the stage is where she wants to be, Annisha casted and appeared in No Jive Productions 2010, “Why Does Love Hurt So Bad”. Annisha demonstrated that she is a force to be reckoned with in this South Florida acting arena having landed the lead role! She was also featured in the 2011 stage play “Loose Lips” and No Jive Production’s 2011 stage play, “His Double Life”. Annisha feels “there is something very thrilling about a live show. You do not have the liberty of cutting a scene to do it over as with film and commercials, I have only one shot to get it right. I simply love that about theater.”

Annisha is excited to join the new cast for another No Jive production and is more focused than ever. She is ready to keep South Florida audience members on the edge of their seats again and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. She also adds, “I am turning into an expensive friend with all these shows but I just can’t stop. I would not change one thing on this journey called life. My friends are welcome to form a line after our final curtain call for social networking pictures!”
Why Does Love Hurt So Bad Cast Member - Alicia Simpson

Alicia Simpson as Momma Brenda Sanders

A born and breed native Miamian, Alicia has talents of many. As a child, her parents instilled in her the importance of education. All through her schooling, Alicia was somewhat of a class clown. While in high school at Miami Beach Senior High, the drama instructor noticed and asked her to participate in an impromptu play for graduation, which she did. Never again gracing a stage, Alicia's life was not always one of good decisions, Alicia strayed from the morals and values taught by her parents. Alicia was approached by the President of No Jive Productions to read for the part of Momma Sanders for the hit stage play "His Double Life". Fortunately, Alicia was again asked to participate in this newest production "Why Does Love Hurt So Bad", which she has embraced with joy. This has truly been an amazing journey, and I am grateful to have this chance to showcase a talent I really never knew existed.
